Jade Rollers
Jade Rollers may very well be my all-time favorite beauty tool; it has a plethora of benefits and uses to offer, and is super easy to find these days! That being said, this little guy has actually been around for a while, being used in Chinese skincare routines dating all the way back to the 17th century! (Now that’s when you know a beauty secret is definitely worth the buzz) Jade rollers are pretty much hand-held face massagers and can be made from green or pink quartz, or green jade. These stones in particular are believed to have protective and healing properties for our skin, like lymphatic drainage, a boost in blood circulation, and reduced swelling. Some rollers come with one rolling piece, while others [like mine] come with two. I like using a roller with two because the second piece is small enough to reach indentations the bigger piece can’t quite get to. But not to worry, the smooth application of the roller in itself allows for a deeper and more effective penetration of skincare products. Think about it- each of our fingers holds a different weight, not to mention a lot of bacteria- when using a jade roller, your product has an ensured clean and even application, thus enhancing its effects, saving the product, and getting your moneys worth!
So how do I use it?
It’s quite simple, when you’re done washing your face [or applying toner, if that’s your first routine step] just apply whichever product you use next–oil, serum, or moisturizer– and with slight pressure, begin to spread the product in upward strokes. Roll back and fourth until the product is absorbed, and don’t forget to sculpt your jawline and cheekbones too for a natural contouring effect! I usually do this for about a minute or two. You can also always just use it alone, as jade rolling can aid lymphatic drainage. Use your nose as a central starting point and roll outwards to the sides of your face, then start in the middle of your chin and roll towards your ears, then start at the top of your neck and roll down towards your collar bones and chest. This rolling path is meant to allow the skin to detoxify.

Reducing inflammation and puffiness
Reducing the appearance of under-eye circles
Stimulating the lymphatic system and blood circulation
